Energy Efficiency Forum: Live from Copenhagen

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Energy Efficiency Forum co-sponsors United States Energy Association (USEA) and Johnson Controls, Inc. (NYSE: JCI) will hold a free, one hour audio webcast, "Energy Efficiency Forum: Live from Copenhagen," on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. EST at www.eeforum.net.

A panel of experts on energy efficiency and climate change will discuss their perspectives on the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15), Denmark, December 7-18. Speakers include:

  • Moderator: Barry Worthington, Executive Director, United States Energy Association
  • Michael Anderson, Manager of Research & Knowledge Center, CoreNet Global
    • CoreNet will reveal the results from its qualitative survey "Energy and Climate Outlook" highlighting corporate real estate and workplace executives' views and responses to energy and climate issues and the impact on their facilities.
  • Roger Platt, Senior Vice President of Global Policy and Law, U.S. Green Building Council
    • Roger will discuss how the environment has been affected by organizations' increased adoption of green building solutions and what the future holds post COP15.
  • Dr. Nigel Jollands, Senior Policy Adviser - Energy Efficiency at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in France
    • The IEA makes specific energy efficiency recommendations in a post-Kyoto framework. IEA also will evaluate how much effort IEA countries are putting into implementing the recommendations and how that plays out to achieving a 450ppm scenario.
  • Clay Nesler, Vice President of Global Energy and Sustainability, Johnson Controls, Inc.
    • Clay will present live observations halfway through the conference, including discussions on:
      • The role technology plays in helping countries achieve their goals
      • The economic, environmental and social impacts of any decisions made

The webcast is the second in a series of on-line discussions among energy leaders from U.S. businesses, school districts, health care facilities, government, and non-government organizations. The Energy Efficiency Forum, a non-partisan event now in its 21st year, is co-sponsored by USEA and Johnson Controls each June in Washington, D.C. This webcast is a dialogue among key players in diverse energy efficiency communities.
